Re: Save the date ideas
i've seen bookmarks done as an alternative to the traditional STD...instead of the 'title' being 'Save the Date' it was 'Mark the Date'
cute idea if you want something non-traditional!

Re: Save the date ideas
we did a magnet with a matching postcard that had the hotel info on it. We also printed personalized stickers on Shutterfly.com to use as envelope seals.

Re: Save the date ideas
There are alot of cute ideas out there, I've seen pencils and coasters which are really cool but probably more $$$ to make.
If you are not looking to spend alot of money, there are cute free templates online as well!
FH and I are taking pictures this saturday for ours and dressing retro and incorporating our dogs to make it a little creative so anything goes!
I love save the dates because it's your chance to have fun and be a little less formal before the actual invites.
eta: we are doing magnets too, possibly also from magnet street

Are you using the same photographer you are using for your wedding to take your pictures for the save the date?

Re: Save the date ideas
I am so happy you asked this question because I was having the same problem. I love the magnet idea because it is more like a keepsake for many people. I still have the save the date from my cousin's wedding 2 years ago!! The bookmark idea sounds really cute though...

Unfortunately, FH and I went overbudget on our photographer (we ADORE him) but couldn't justify spending $700 for a few hours. We really need only a couple of great pictures for the save the dates!
My friend is very into photography and does it for a hobby and he's very talented. He agreed to do them for us!

Re: Save the date ideas
I designed mine on photo shop using my engagement photos and uploaded it on to vista print.
If you aren't computer savoy , Magnet street as some really great designs that you literally just drop your photos in to. they also have some with out photos that are a little less
I sent mine out last week and everyone i talk to is says they have it on there fridge, so i feel the magnets are the best way for people to remember and keep your STD.
