Save the Date Question

I want to have them made up soon, But i dont know when i send them. My wedding date is far off, but i think since it lands on a holiday Monday, I should give people a lot of time to plan on being there, how soon before the wedding do I send them out?

I'm sending mine out next month and my wedding is in May of 08...but I am having a DW wedding ...I was originally planning a memorial day weekend wedding home and i was going to send them out a year before ...poeple travel a lot on the long weekends so i would send them out soon because people book their trips early

i think that's totally up to you. i think the wedding guides say something like 6-9 months.

for my october 8, 2006 (which is on a holiday wkend sunday) wedding I sent my std's out at the beginning of nov 06. You definitly want to get it in b4 the holidays.

I sent mine out 9 months in advance.

One thing I wanted to mention though is not everyone gets the Monday of Columbus Day weekend off so you might want to send them earlier rather than later so if people need to plan their vacation time in advance, they can. We don't have Columbus Day off, it's a regular working day for our office.

we sent ours at the year mark cause it was a holiday weekend...

What I recommend is NOT sending it to EVERY single person YOU MIGHT invite-only send them to people who are the MUST haves for the wedding...or else you will be stuck having to invite people at a time when you might need to cut numbers

I dont know if u started to look for them but i ordered my from agiftfulheart.com ...they have so many different ones for only 1 dollar each

I sent them just over a year before. I was only inviting about 90 and I wanted everyone there so I figured if they knew about it far enough in advance I would have a better turn out. One word of advice. Don't send them to EVERYONE you KNOW. Things can change in a year, you never nknow. You can always invite someone who didn't get one but you can't not invite someone who did.
