Good Morning - I have a quick question for you guys. When are you sending out your Save the Dates. My wedding is September 28, 2008 (doing a fall theme magnet) I was planning on sending them out at the end of November but some people are telling me to wait until January. What do you think?

Re: Save the Date Question
I always thought 7-8 months before is fine but everyone thats getting married next Aug has already sent them out... sometimes I feel like if I send it out too early people will just stick them on their refrigerator and forget about it...

Re: Save the Date Question
I'm sending mine out this weekend. Its about 8 months before. I wanted to do it last month but was lazy. The earlier the better. If you have your list together send them out.

Re: Save the Date Question
i just sent mine out and i'm getting married the beginning of september. the only reason i sent mine so early is because we have a lot of people from out of town so they can start looking for cheap flights, which they've done. some have already booked -- yay! also, it's a sunday night which is kind of inconvenient. figure it gives people lots of notice.

Re: Save the Date Question
We sent ours out in Sept.....the reason we did this is that we are getting married Labor Day weekend, and people may have plans, so we wanted to give them a heads up!

Re: Save the Date Question
I was going to send mine out this month, but I think I am going to send them out in January. As I said in an earlier post somewhere, I am not really doing anything wedding related until after Christmas because working and shopping is enough to think about.

Re: Save the Date Question
Thanks for all your advise... I may steel the idea of send them with your holiday cards. I told my fiance and he liked that. Atleast people will recieve them more like 9 months in advance.

Re: Save the Date Question
We sent e-party invites, and to some people e-announcements. We included the STD in with the envelope. (just a loose magnet)
We have a LOT of OOT guests (all of FH's family + a lot of our friends) so we wanted to make sure people actually save the date! Plus, it saved on postage (!) and had a link to our wedding website, which had our registries available.
It was the most efficient method for us.
Timingwise, our e-party was one day after the '1 year till our wedding' mark, so I think they were sent out a few weeks prior to that.
