Save the date question

Save the date question

For the save the dates, do you put the town that the ceremony is going to be in or the town of the reception?

Edit- should i include hotel information with my STDs since i have a lot of out of town guests. I am sending out the STDs in april (1 year before the weddings) or should i include it with the invitations? I will be reserving a block of rooms.

I put down where the ceremony is because that's where the whole event starts and that is where we will be announced as man and wife.

My Save the Dates are simple:

8.4.2011 Steev and Stephanie and tying the knot, invatation to follow.

that's all, I am sending them out this summer (one year before the event) and I am sending the invites 6 months before (so late RSVPs are not really 'late' and I have a lot of out of state relatives)

I didn't. I put:
Our names
The date
Formal invitation to follow
Everyone knows where we live and the ceremony and reception are both in different towns.
Pic in my DIY album (Don't mind the date, they are from BEFORE we changed the date to 2011

the only reason i want to put a town is because alot of my guests are from out of town (my mom's whole side of the family) i've had a couple of relatives ask me if I am having the wedding upstate or on long island. i think that is such a stupid question becuase i have lived on LI my whole life and so has my FH...why would i have it anywhere else!

Definitely include the hotel info, people are going to want to book sooner than when you'll send the invitations out

I'm only including Long Island, NY in regards to a location, as the out of town guests will have no clue where we're talking about if I list the actual town name. I'm also putting the website on it so that way all the guests can get more specific details and figure out exactly where they're going.
