I would leave out either the 'reserve the date' or 'Are happy to announce their wedding date' the word date is a little monotonous.

Also some of it is in the third person and some in the first person. Maybe say, 'A year from when he proposed THEY will say I do'

Hope this helps!

It does. It is so helpful to have another pair of eyes when I have been staring at it for the last hour!

I think I need to change it to
Jill
and
Jack
are getting married... etc etc.

I think you can leave out where the ceremony and reception and accomodations are, as it will be included in the formal invite. You can write 'Formal invitation to follow' or something like that. The point is to save the date, not give all the info that will be on the invite...short and sweet is better on a save the date...JMO

Also 'We look forward' doesn't sound right because it's an incomplete thought...(what are you looking forward to?)...I would reword it...maybe something like, 'we look forward to sharing our special day with you'???

Hope that wasn't too harsh...HTH!!!

no worries about being harsh- I need it. THANKS! I thought I would include hotel info though bc how will people know to book if they want to be included in the blocked prices The room prices only hold until 2 months before the wedding and then are let go? Thoughts?

That looks great!!!! Sorry, I didn't know your guests can only get the blocked rate until 2 months before your wedding. Most hotels give until a month before. Can't wait to see a pic of your save-thedate!!!

i thought 'we look forward and hope you will be able to...' was awkward.

cut out look forward or hope and change wording..

Re: Save the Date wording ok? comments? opinions?

I would keep it short and sweet... makes it easier for everyone to read and none the less remember... this is JMO...
Mine reads like this:

Save the date
Danicia & Bobby
are getting married
4-4-9
Then I have our wedding website...
'formal invite to follow'

I think this section still needs to be addressed. I know papyrus online has a few sample STDs. I would recommend checking those out.
