Do/Did most of you girls send out save-the-dates? I wasn't planning to b/c we are not having THAT many OOT guests, and most of those that are OOT are close relatives that know the date of the wedding. Also, our wedding is not on a holiday weekend. But now my FMIL is concerned about people knowing the hotel information (and not having to wait until the invite to receive it) so she is suggesting save-the-dates including the hotel info. What do you think? I feel like I have SO much going on right now, and now I am going to have to think about save the dates???

i am planning on doing is just sending a newsletter kind of thing with hotel information, airport information, and car rentals, and also a few things in the area because some people having never been to NY and i heard they are going to the wedding at the beginning of their trip or at the end
just something simple on nice paper - just so they have it- plus a link to our website for more information

The only reason I did save the dates is because I was having a Sunday night wedding and I was nervous about people having to give notice to take off work on Monday. They are absolutely not necessary and guests will have plenty of time to book their rooms once they get the invitation. I wouldn't bother with it.

I did save the dates because I thought they were cute and fun. We probably could have used the $$$ elsewhere, but we got them anyway and everyone loved them.

I sent out STD... but we have a ton of OOT guests so we needed to include the hotel info... our wedding is also on a sunday so I wanted to give people the 'heads up' that they may need to take off from work the next day... we just used a pic we had on the comp and I typed some wording on it about the wedding date & hotel info... they were a cute idea but not completely necessary... especially if you don't have a lot of OOT guests... but you mentioned a holiday weekend so I would suggest them in your care... people may make other travel plans for a holiday weekend...

I am sending out STDs. I thought they were a cute idea. I dont have too many OOT guests, but my wedding is on a Sunday in the summer. Ive had some friends and relatives ask hotel info, so I thought they were a good idea. Whatever works for you .
