save the dates

I bought 5 x 7 cards for the save the dates... I thought we could print them on the printer but they get stuck and come out crooked...

I called the printer and he wants like $100 to print...

any ideas? how did you guys do these?

Re: save the dates

FH and i just ordered our STD's as magnets from a seller on ebay. he gave us a great deal and worked with us. We figure we'll have the magnets in an envelope and then print out on card stock information on hotels for OOT guests. But the magnets i think are better, cause people will sometimes just throw out the card.

if you look under my profile on here, you'll see a link to my bio page from theknot and on it is a pic of our save the date. there's also a link to the eBay seller's store. he's really great.

good luck

the stock of the paper is probably too thick for your printer. Maybe try someone elses printer (using the ones that are already messed up). Or see if Kinko's will print on your cardstock. However, $100 is pretty good price, if you were having at least 100 done.

I called Kinkos' they said that they could only do 8 X 11..

yeah the printer wanted $20 to set it and $1 per card.. I guess I have no choice....

I got the cards at Lion in the Sun and I really thought at the time I could print myself, otherwise I would have had them do it...
