Save the dates

Our wedding is October 4th and we are thinking about sending out save the date magnets. If we do, when should I order them and when do we send them out???

I think save the dates should be sent out 4-6 months prior to the wedding. Sooner to your guests that would have to travel internationally.

My FH's family is HUGE, He has 36 cousins alone and it's all word of mouth. We were at his cousin nancy's wedding friday night & every single person came up to us and asked us if we are ready, nervous etc? THey were like 'May is so close' And a few of the people were from out of town! They all knew when!
