i had heard that you should send them out as soon as you set the date, but i know a lot of you girls are like me and have a long engagement, and i feel like that's too far in advance... people will lose them!
i've been informally telling friends and family and will probably send out the STD's (lol am i the only one who giggles every time they read that?) around 6-9 months in advance.

WE are taking our engagements pics in the sum,er so thats wen we will prob be sending them out.. at the end of the summer

I sent them a few weeks after the one year mark. I still have a few to send out, I am just trying to get the list right.

i'm sending them at the 1 year mark. most of our friends are teachers who like to go on vacation right after school ends so we want to do them early....i'm sending them out more just for the fun of doing it, my wedding isnt a holiday weekend, i just really wanted to do them, and my MOH wanted to give it to us as an engagement gift

i ordered mine from magnet streetweddings.com i should be receiving them tomorrow! can't wait...however im not sending them out until april or may for my March of 2009 wedding
