Re: Save the Dates
I think the general rule of thumb is to send STDs about 6 months ahead of time, but since your date is close to New Years, you may want to send them a little earlier.
The only caution with sending them very early is that you may decide you need to modify your guest list later. If someone has already received a STD, it would be difficult to tell them they won't be invited.

Re: Save the Dates
I thought about sending out the save the dates a little earlier. i was thinking on having the save the dates double as a wedding announcement. but your right, I need to get my list down pat before becasue if i've already sent the save the date i now HAVE to invite them to the wedding

Re: Save the Dates
The normal rule is 8-10 months in advance, but your date is very close to new years eve and people may be making vacation plans for the week off that the schools have so i would say 10 months in advance.

I also have a lot of OOT guest and I gave them out as part of our e-party favors. Those who weren't at the party I mailed. I actually sent mine out a year and a half in advance. Mainly for FH's family they are all OOTers and they all don't talk/ get together very often. Our wedding is on a Friday so I wanted them to have a lot of advance notice.

I was thinking the same thing. Most our our guests are OOT and have to make arrangements for thier children, who by the way are not invited to the wedding, and make arrangements for work. Our wedding is on a friday night also. I will wait until the end of this year but the hotels say they cant give me pricing until january the earliest.
