Save the Dates

I was curious to know how in advance should I send out my save the dates if my wedding is in May?
Thanks so much!

Re: Save the Dates

Save the dates are usually sent 6 months before the wedding

I sent mine just under a year because I have a lot of OOT guests. I sent them last week

Re: Save the Dates

I sent them 6 months before b/c the OOT guest keep on asking when where what time. It will make your life a lot easier to sent them out soon then later.

i'm going to send them out about a year before because of all the OOT guests.

Re: Save the Dates

I sent them ion Feb for an October wedding.

There is no 'rule', but most people send them between 12-6 months before.

I sent mine out a year in advance-I have a lot of oot guests and my wedding is on a Sunday so I wanted to give people plenty of time.

According to my mother, Peggy Post's book on wedding etiquette says 6 months before. I thought we should have sent them when we knew the date (which was 9 months before), but they went 6 months before.

I would send them now if you have your guest list sufficiently narrowed down

Lmao, I still didn't sent out mine and my wedding is less than 5 months away.... soooo... I am a bad example.

Re: Save the Dates

I sent mine out about 6 mos before. If you have OOT guests I would send theirs out sooner if you are able to.

It depends... is mostly everyone local? Then go for 6-9 months before. Are there a ton of OOTers? Go for 9-12 months before.

6 months...longer if it's a holiday weekend or most people will need to travel/take off from work.
