I just ordered mine yesterday, they'll be here in two weeks. So as soon as I get them they're out!!!!!

My wedding is Aug 13 2011 and I'm sending them out in January. 8 months before. I dont want to do it in December because of all the holiday cards.

there is no necessary time ... etiquette is 6-8 months before the event. usually with a holiday weekend you could send them earlier - some people do a year mark. i am sure that youve told most of the important people in your life your date anyways so i wouldnt worry! as long as you have at least 6 months youre in the clear!
