hey ladies.. how far in advance do you send out save the dates?

i hear between a year to 9 months away from your day. Probably going to send mine a year from the date!

i heard proper etiquette says no earlier than 1 yr and no later than 6 months before so whatever period w/in that works for you We have A LOT of OOT guests so we will prob send them when we are 1 yr to 9 months out

9 months to a year depending on if it falls around (or on) a holiday or if it is destination wedding.

I will be sending mine at the 9 month mark because I want to have a picture from my e-shoot on it... but we don't plan on having an e-shoot until June.

thanks everyone!! did anyones photographer throw in engagement pictures? we really dont need them since he got the picture of him proposing but we do have an idea of how we want the save the date to look

We are doing out e-shoot at the end of July and using those pics for our STD's so August --which will be 8 months before

im sending ours about 10 months before. we are at our 1 yr mark, but since our engagement party invites went out a little while ago, i don't want to send them until that is over with.

I think MrsCat gave hers out at her Eparty, and the rest you can mail, that way you don't feel like you're overwhelming people. And you may save on postage :)

I wish i thought of sending them out at the engag party.. we had ours in nov. I am so impatient i wanted to have the party asap lol

I wanted to send mine our at the 1 year mark 1/15/2011 but unfortunately we have had a crap load of snow......and I don't want ppl to get them and say.....I hope it doesn't snow!!!!! So i'm moving my STD send out date to March so ppl maybe will forget that there was a ton of snow in January.

NWR---but when i was watching the weather last night, they said last year on 1/24/2010 the temp was 50 degrees out!!!!!!!! what a difference. I'm gonna pray every night that my wedding is 50 degrees....that would be amazing!
