So i have a question... I really think that we need to send out save the date cards... but my fiance and my parents think they are unnecessary. There thought is that everyone already knows when the date is and it is an added expense that we don't need. I want them and i think they are important. I just want to get some opinions here. I know i can find a good deal on these if i look.

Re: Save the dates?
For the longest time I didnt want to send them out just to save money but I know how men are w remembering dates so I figured it would help with that and any people who didnt know. I got them on vistaprint for very cheap so that convinced me to just go for it. Each person is different. But if you can fit it into your budget go for it!

Re: Save the dates?
I got 100 for about $30 and just had them printed at Walmart - they are a nice gesture for people from out of town to give them a 'formal' notice in an informal way to request off work and start making travel arrangements.

Re: Save the dates?
You should send them, esp if you have any OOT guests or guests with children that need to make arrangements.
I spent maybe $50 on mine plus stamps.

I agree it is a great way to save a little money, but you can also find a really good deal on them.........Just remember you have to add in the postage for each one....

Re: Save the dates?
I really love the idea of save the dates. Yes they are an added expense, but you can honestly just price around and I'm sure you could get a great deal! You could even make them yourself. You should try vistaprint.com
They have great stuff! And they are always having sales on something

Re: Save the dates?
I sent out STD's are there are people that still don't remember the that and ask me. Despite that I still liked that I sent them out.

I think I posted about this on a similar thread, but electronic STD's are free. Go to punchbowl.com

Re: Save the dates?
I didnt love ours but they were $25 including shipping. I designed them myself. They were postcards. I used a coupon I googled. Vistaprint.com or overnightprints.com are good for that.

Re: Save the dates?
if it's the expense you're worried about then i'm sure you can find a good deal and you don't have to get anything too fancy.. or even go with the online route. but depending on the proximity of your guests, STDs are a great way to give people plenty of notice so they can start planning for travel accommodations and expenses.

Re: Save the dates?
its a great way to sort of kick off your wedding and give people a little taste of what kind of wedding you are having or set them up for your theme. I made my own and went a bit overboard, but you can find really nice ones for a good price

Re: Save the dates?
I used vistaprint for magnet STDs and it was around $50 too. You can do postcards if you prefer that over magnets for even less .. and they always have coupons available online.
It was inexpensive and we had the epics to use, so we figured why not? And I got a lot of compliments on them!
