What a day, spent it trying to agree on save the dates with my FH.
Need advice. I am inviting 210 people. I am thinking I may only need 75 save the dates, due to multiple family members in one household and I will not be sending all guests save the dates. Will it be enough?
Secondly, must I write formal invitation to follow?
Does the brides name go first or the groom?

Bride should always go first.
Only send them to people you know you will definitely invite no matter what, you don't want to send one to say a co-worker that you may not be working with anymore come time for your wedding and don't really want to invite anymore etc.

We put the grooms name first because we weren't thinking, the only people who seemed to notice were my parents.

Brides name first. Only send STD's to those you are definitely going to invite. Also you need to put formal invitation to follow. You have no idea how many people will think that is the actual invite.

THIS! def only send STD to people you are SURE of. we got a STD for a wedding on a holiday weekend and then were not invited to the wedding. It was really messed-up!

We were so confused and asked others what they did. we ended up putting my name first then FH's name. We put our date and 'formal invitation to follow'. We kept it pretty simple and probably ordered more than we needed. We're inviting 160 and bought 100. We haven't sent them out yet...procrastinating on keeping addresses haha! And yes, definitely only send to those you are certain you are inviting, otherwise that awkwardness of not inviting someone to your wedding will only be that much worse when they actually think they are invited and you decide against it in the end.

we did photobooth type pics holding 'save' 'the' 'date' cards so there was no confusion. Definitely only send to people you're going to invite so be sure of your numbers.
