Save the Dates

Save the Dates

Not sure if I am being over enthusiastic with all of this but once we booked the RH I ordered my magnets. I got free shipping and assumed that it would take a while to come but I got an email that they should be here on Tuesday. How long before the wedding should I send them out. We are about 14 months from the big day, is it obnoxious to send them now? Just looking for some opinions, I am obviously excited but I don' know if others will feel as enthused as myself..lol

haha...i hope it's not obnoxious because we're giving ours out as favors at our e-party at the end of march (and sending the rest to whoever can't make it.) the e-party is 18 months away from the big day

i think people expect us to be on top of this stuff as new brides. and it also helps having STDs if you have family who live far and need to make arrangements so it's a safe bet either way!

Usually you send them out 6-8 months before or if the wedding is during a holiday then about 1 year before. But really it's your wedding and you can send them out whenever you want.

Price Question...
I wasn't going to do STD, trying to cut cost where I can.
We have told roughly 85% of those invited the date and hotel information already, but I'm now wondering did anyone get amazing deals on them that it is worth doing?
Can someone tell me roughly how much you spent?

I plan to send mines out at about the 8-9 month mark.

i've heard that vistaprint usually has great deals and discount codes for STDs, but I don't know any more details other than that. worth looking into though

I wanted to give mine out at the e-party but I'm afraid that people will just throw it to the side since it's so far away.

we did magnets just so people can stick 'em up somewhere. i'm sure they might still get tossed around, but our goal was to let our friends and family who live on both coasts and inbetween, and in different countries, to pencil us into their planners :)

Re: Save the Dates

I got 200 magnets (they came today and they are big and awesome) on vistaprint. For 200 magnets and 200 envelopes I paid 145 (I think it came out to like 65 a magnet). I got free shipping and they shipped the next day and came in 6 days...I guess I am overzealous about the whole thing cause it was our first real concrete purchase aside from the RH deposit, I guess I will send them in a few months...lol

I'm getting married the next day after you and i just sent them out. We both have several out of town guests and wanted to give them plenty of notice. We used magnets as our STD and so far for the one's that received them said they posted it on their fridge already!! Some even signed in our wedding website! :). I might of rushed a bit but i was too excited. Anytime is good.

I was going to send them out a year before, so I'm thinking in March. I am holding off bc I want to wait until we book a photog and see if they include engagement photos. Does your magnet have a pic or just a general design? Not sure what to do yet...

Mine has a pic of us and I thought that they were going to be business card size but they are HUGE, I am so happy with them. They also included magnets with a coupon code for 25% off that I can share its www.vistaprint.com/cal4u
