Save The Dates

What exactly is the etiquette for sending save the dates? Do you send to everyone on your guest list or just your closest friends and family?

Save The Dates

I'd say anyone who you KNOW will be invited. Not everyone needs one, especially if they're a maybe. You don't want to send a save the date then realize you don't want them there or worse, don't have room for them. Any out of town guests should definitely get a save the date so they can prepare for travel.

Save The Dates

We sent one to everyone we're definitely planning on inviting. Also, some of our older cousins that still live with our aunts/uncles, we only sent one Save the Date to the household even though we'll be sending separate invitations when the time comes.

Save The Dates

Yeah, we're planning to send them to the people who are on the definite A list. Which will end up being most of the people invited, but there are some we are still unsure about, so they're not getting Save the Dates. I'd rather someone not get a Save the date, but get an invite intend of the other way around - getting a Save the date, but not an invite - yikes!

Save The Dates

What about not sending it to like FMIL's co-workers that she put on the list, or even my co-workers because it's not hugely important to me if they come or not. I am more or less inviting them out of formality.

This!! I also sent out a save the date to the 2 co workers of my father's that he wanted to invite (one being his boss of ten plus years and the other being someone he is very connected to). The only other co worker of the parents is my FFIL's business partner, but he will most likely not be there since the two other owners will be at the wedding.
