SAVE THE DATES, but when

For my October wedding (which more than half of our guests are OOT) when do you think we should send them out. We want people to book their rooms and not have to be bombarded with all of this at the last minute
thoughts????

What we're actually doing is actually sending them w/ our Christmas cards. We're doing a magnet. We figure by then people will have their 2006 calendars & will be able to mark it off on their calendars.

You have time though too....you could wait until Feb. or March...Not later than that w/ people having to make flight reservations/etc.

I have >50% OOT guests and I sent my STD out one year in advance.

IMO there is no date too soon to send a STD. That's the whole point, to SAVE THE DATE!!! order them now and send them when you're ready...

we have the same wedding date!!!

I am hoping to send them by February - we still need to block hotel rooms and I am going to make STDs my first DIY project (although both my mom and my F think I am crazy, they have no faith in my creative ability)...so I am prob going to need some time!

Have you done a lot already?

we are getting married in Sept and we just sent our with all hotel info, so it was 11 months before

July Wedding, sent them out last week. Already blocked the hotel rooms so we wanted to let family know ASAP. On the card, we put our LIW website with info on there about the blocked rooms. Our STD
