My MOH wants to do STDs for my shower, which is in August. She's worried that a lot of people may plan vacations during that time, and wants to give them a heads up. Do you guys think it's okay, or is it tacky?

Honestly, I find it tacky. I doubt a shower is going to stop a family who is going to go on a Summer vacation. But, this is JMO

I dont think its appropriate either. Summer showers are hard but that's life. She may want to send the invitation a little earlier so maybe more people will be able to attend.

I don't think save the dates are a good idea either. Maybe your family could spread the word about it and send invites out early.
PS...HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR SHOWER IS???

i wouldn't do STD's. honestly, if i had vacation plans already booked, i wouldn't cancel them for a shower.

Re: Save the dates for a shower?
Thank you. When my mom told me my MOH suggested it, I FREAKED OUT..... my poor mom didn't even know what save-the-dates were until I explained it
I know when my shower is because I didn't want it to be a surprise. The last 3 showers I've attended have been that way.... Also, because I work from home and make my own schedule, I sometimes leave all my work for the weekend, which would've been REALLY BAD to do on my shower weekend!

I would be sure to send the invites out 2 months in advance.
