Save the Dates- POLL

OK so i just booked my photog a week ago and he's doing complimentary engagement photo shoot. So I figure, 'Hey, why not send STDs!' (i originally wasn't going to in order to save $). But if I can send cute STDs with great prof e-pics i figure, why not.

Dilemma: my wedding is Oct 1. That means that if I get them out by early May (took photos yesterday), that's less than 5 months before the wedding. Is this too close? too late? Is it pointless?

keep in mind, ill be paying practically nothing.. $100 tops.

oh and i almost forgot TIA!!!

Two questions:

1- Do you have alot of OOT guests?

2- Did you tell almost everyone already via word of mouth?


If you dont have alot of OOT guests and you pretty much told everyone then you dont necessarily need them. HOWEVER...for only $100...it would be a nice keepsake.

not many. and yeah most people know. but i just think the std magnets are ADORABLE. and for practically nothing, why not..

cuz im afraid ppl are gonna say.. 'umm, isn't it a little late for stds'. or 'jenna's wedding invitiation, didnt we just get her stds??'

QUESTION: then when do i send the invite? 8 wks prior? or less, like 6?

is the shoot only $100? bc thats what we thought when we did ours but bewteen the cost of printing the stds, postage, and the time spent addressing them all, it wasnt too cheap afterall. haha
but 5 months ahead of time prob isnt necessary. def take the pics though- you can make a cute album or use the pics for table numbers or on programs or stickers on favors/oot bags, etc.

No shoot was complimentary/included in pkg + credit for stds, so its practically nothing. I was also thinking pics for table #s too.

i sent mine out at 5 months!

I got engaged xmas eve, and only 6 months to plan the wedding...

we have a lot of OOT guests tho....i still think it would be fun to send them out if the cost isn't a factor....do it if u want! I obviously don't think it's weird lol

OH! i should add....i hadn't blocked my rooms when i sent them out...do that first so u can add that info on the STDs....i wish i had!

I say DEF do them. A free e-shoot? My photog offered us e-pics with our package but I chewed him down $300 and made him not charge tax if he took the e-pics shoot out. I felt like we didnt need it bc we had already sent out our STDs. Turns out, we are probably going to need an e-pics shoot now anyway bc I want them for our custom table numbers!
Go for it! You can never take e-pics ever again after you get married. And if you get STDs made cheap thru Vistaprint or similar company, I say send the STDs even if its not THAT far in advance. Who cares? Might as well send them out late instead of never sending them and regretting it later.
