Save the Dates Question -- to 'And Guest' or not to 'And Guest' -- that is the question!

Save the Dates Question -- to 'And Guest' or not to 'And Guest' -- that is the question!

We are working on our Save the Dates and can't decide if our single friend & family envelopes should include 'and Guest' or not?!

They will all probably be invited with a guest to the wedding.

What do you think we should do?

as far as i know--you never put 'And Guest' on an STD. it's an informal reminder--therefore '& Guest' is not required. just the single guest's name is enough.

you only need '& Guest' on the INNER envelope of the invitation.

you just need to inform those who will get an invitation that:
formal invitation to follow

I say to not put guest... I agree with the other girls.

One piece of extra advice... just send STD's to CLOSE friends and family... those you DEFINITELY know you will be inviting to your wedding and will definitely be on an 'A' list - or people who if you found yourself in a position where you had to cut out some people, that those wouldn't be the people to go. Once people have a Save the Date, you can't send Forget the Dates! I personally wish I didn't send STD's to my coworkers because I felt very different a year and a half after sending them my STD's than I did when the wedding invites went out, but HAD to invite them because they had my STD magnets! So, just send to your 'no-doubt-about-it' guests. (take it from me! )

great point!! because guest-lists morph throughout the planning process.

Dont have my STDs but plan on 'guest' being on the invite only.

I did not send mine to 'and guest'----only to the person i KNEW was invited. if you think about it, it makes no sense to put 'and guest', since the 'and guest' likely does not exist yet, otherwise you'd be putting the actual name of the guest. so essentially, you'd be reminding a non-existent person to save the date.

This is all very true. Send them to people who are going to be invited no matter what.

Oh and don't put and guest. I invited everyone with a guest, that can be a happy little surprise when they get the invite in my opinion.

Me too, if I knew the guest's name I put it on the save the date but, if not, I just addressed it to the individual and put and guest on their invitations.

NO, the 'and guest' is for the invitation. This is for the person that is actually invited to the wedding.

So I just sent out the STD and did not put 'and Guest' I did however not know how to spell one of my friends fiances name so I just addressed it to her (ps..they do not live together) Well it turns out they she was upset and only thought she was invited and got all mad that I didn't address it to her and her FH.

IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT YOUR FH IS INVITED!!!Mind you she is a fellow bride in planning and should cut me some slack .
