For all the brides savings for the wedding themselves (parents not paying, taking out loan, ect.) are you on target? I have 3 more months and I think Im on target but not sure? Anymore getting nervous? 2008 is so close!! Anyone think they will be short? what will you do if you come up short?

HA! i just figured this out ( i should be working LOL) and as of this moment we have enough for EVERYTHING except for the tips. . . like literally on my wedding day the account is going to have $400 left in it. . .so we need to come up with about $2000 for the tips. . . I started rolling change the other day ( not joking ) and i just want to get that extra money in there so we REALLY have nothing to worry about !
Your soo lucky! Tips are optional and you will def. be able to come up with the 2k no problem! Everytime I think Im on target, I think of something else I need. And Im also counting on alot of NOs too!
dont!! that is where i ran into trouble!! i budgeted for about 150 people but no one is saying NO so now I have to budget for 200 people!!
THAT IS $7500 MORE!!!!!!
WHY DO PEOPLE WANT TO COME TO MY WEDDING!
if my plan of 150 was coming THEN i would have money left OVER!!!!!!

Oh my god... My Fiance and I are wayy off!!!! The reason is because we went wayyy over our budget... We are about 10K over our budget... We really have to pray for NOs! But I have Mom to help me out to so thats good... We recently started rolling change too!! Believe it or not we saved over $200.00 in 6 months (went into savings)... Not to much, but more than we had before... I'm totally off target!!

NOBODY WILL catch you doing it LOL dont worry...first of all most of your guests will be gone when you tip people PLUS you can go into the bridal suite to get the money, definitely dont open it in front of people...but just saying if god forbid you come out short then dont go crazy stressing yourself out, there is nothing wrong with doing this.

No way we are far behind due to taking money from the wedding fund for our apartment. I keeping looking for a third job but no one is hiring me so we have no clue what we are going to do.

Re: Saving money for wedding??? Are you on target?
we're not really saving together so it's hard to tell. we just take turns paying stuff. like in december fh will pay the rh deposit and i'll pay the photog b/c i paid for a lot of the HM already... i don't think we'll be blowing the budget either but i haven't finalized the guest list - I'm sure once i sit down with my parents and his mom, they'll be adding people and i'll start to stress. they aren't paying though so I think they'll be reasonable with who they add... they know i wanted a relatively small wedding.
i'm also lucky that i'll get a good bonus and that will help a lot hopefully.

lol i will help.
I am short, but we will see. FH promotes parties in his spare time so I am hoping that either tax season is good to him (never good to me, i always owe) and he has a great successful party

Re: Saving money for wedding??? Are you on target?
I think I'm on target. A while ago I deposited half of the wedding costs (FH and I are splitting the costs 50-50) into a CD. It prevents me from using that money for other things, and it's earning interest. I can't touch it until February 2008 and by that time I'll have gained an extra $1k in interest on it! With our budget right now, this CD will actually end up paying for over 1/2 of our wedding.

Re: Saving money for wedding??? Are you on target?
We're working on it. I put myself on a tight budget, and am going to move back in with my parents 2 months before the wedding to save some extra money. As of now, we should be ok...but alot does depend on how many guests say yes.
