Saving the Date

When do you send out the Save the Date cards/magnets/notices???

Our wedding is 10/25 and we're sending them out with our Xmas cards. I think 6-9 months is the standard, unless it's a holiday weekend, in which case you should get them out ASAP!

we are probably not going to send them out- we don 't have too many out of town guests. Those that are from far know my date at this point through word of mouth. Also, it will save some costs. I thought about it but....
