Saw the diabetic nurse last night

Well after the stress of being stuck in MAJOR TRAFFIC last night, I finally got to the dr with 10 minutes to spare -- mind you I gave myself an hour and a half to get there!!!! Good thing, huh?

She was very nice and gave me the Accu-Check machine that I have to use to test my blood every day -- HELLO, SIX TIMES A DAY!! I thought once a day, but nope, before and after every meal. Good thing I'm not queasy and have no problem pricking my finger and getting blood. It's easy to work and not a big problem -- it looks like a cellphone!

She gave me a brief explanation of what I have to eat and not eat and told me what my levels should be at. Me being me, of course mine seem to be the opposite of what they're supposed to be -- they're high when they should be low and low when they should be high!! Typical me!

I have to attend 4 sessions, one being on insulin, which is the last resort if the diet maintenance doesn't work. Then I have to meet with a nutritionist one-on-one.

You know, I eat pretty good anyway, but now I feel like I don't know what the heck to do and I'm so confused looking at this friggin chart!!! I'm so sick of eating grilled chicken and eggs, I'm going to turn into one! Chicken, that is!

But I'll do whatever it takes to make the Bear Cub happy and healthy -- heck, if I have to eat more eggs, maybe I should invest in my own chicken!!!

Joe was so cute when I had to test myself -- he starts taking the machine and everything away from me and is all ready to do it for me, but he wasn't doing it right and he's telling me that I'm doing it wrong!!! He used to test his grandmother, but her machine is much older and different. I think I'll let him test me so that he can feel like he's taking care of me!!

There's the scoop, so far!! Thanks for all your support and encouragement!! I certainly feel the love and totally appreciate it and give it right on back!!!

Debbie, wanna hear something funny.

TOO SCAREy, I THINK I KNOW JOE now. LOL.

As I was reading it I wasnt even half way, and I was thinking 'UH OH, I bet Joe is going to take it from her and handle it himself' Since you always say he's the one that freaks out more or gets anal about everything.. and then when I read what you wrote I was like HAHHH !!!!

What a good hubby you have !!

You'll be fine, youre such a trooper. Youre an amazing mommy already !!

*I can just see you 15 years from now. Turning the AC off and saying (to the baby) 'See how hot it is? This is what I drove in for hours to make sure you were happy and healthy'

I love ya baby !

Deb, you are such a trooper, and I know this is rough, but you have such an amazingly upbeat attitude that I just know everything is going to be FINE!

Joe is such a sweetie. Isn't it wondeful being married to someone who cares about you and loves you so much?!

Oh gosh, you guys just made me cry!!! These hormones are all over the friggin place. Thank you both, I needed that right now.

From your lips to God's ears! I know you're both right, and I try not to let myself get all down or nervous about it. I especially try not to let Joe see that because then he'll really freak on me!

I waited a long time for my Mr. Right to come along and I can honestly say now that it was well worth the wait!!! And I've waited a long time to be a mommy and I know that it's also going to be well worth the wait!!!

Ok, I can't see what I'm typing anymore!!

Love you guys!
