Saw this on the Knot

DON'T join their mailing list. Now not only am I getting garbage in my e-mail, but I'm getting calls at work from their vendors!
Unless you like that kind of thing...

Thought some of you who were writing about vendors calling might be interested in this

Wow! How do you get on the mailing list? Do you get on when you sign up? If so, I have never received on phone call. However, I know of people here who have complained about the numerous phone calls from vendors - but these complaints were from several months ago, so the problem may have been fixed.

A lot of the calls you get are from bridal expos. If you register for any you get tons of calls.

You dont get the emails, phone calls & direct mail from registering. Its from that $1000 contest they had a while back. After participating in that a lot of members got lots of junk mail.

Here's a thought for the knotties - isn't the purpose of joining a mailing list to get info?? Why else would you join?? Why are they shocked that they are getting phone calls and stuff???

I get an e-mail from the knot EVERDAY!!! Sometimes twice a day!

I have never gotten any spam, junk mail or what not from any vendor..... I guess I am lucky that way.

I've gotten a few emails but nothing over the top. I have seen some brides on here complain about getting too much email though.

When ever you enter a contest, go to a show, or subscribe to a magazine you will get solicitations. I have gotten only a few e-mails from LIWeddings vendors. No biggie. They are the ones who support this site. I get more junk from the knot everyday. If you don't want to get on this sites mailing list then don't enter the 1K giveaway. Or at least read the privacy policy before you complain.

I actually saw that message before signing up o this site so put my voicemail work number down for the phone # just incase after reading these replies I guess that wasn't necessary
