Saw this on the last post about inlaws not meeting
After reading the last post about inlaws not meeting. Is anyone planning a to have a sit down dinner with both parents to set the mode for the engagement party, rehersal dinner and so forth

Both parents have met on a few occassions and get along fine.
I think both sets of parents should meet wayyyyyyyy before any of the formal wedding functions.

they had dinner together shorly after we were engaged. that was their first time meeting. i think they plan on having a few more dinners together b4 the wedding

my parents have met, but I'm starting to wonder if we shouldn't sit them down together so we can all discuss the wedding and planning all in the same place at the same time so we're all on the same page... especially since they're helping us out with paying for the wedding, but haven't actually discussed with each other who is going to pay for what and how they want to handle it... they've just sort of had us relaying things between them.

They have met on many occasions...my family is friends with their family out here in New Mexico.
The distance thing makes it a pain in the arse for get togethers.

A few weeks after we got engaged, my parents had his parents over for dinner. Our families are very different, so it was a little akward.
But now they;ve met so that's over and done.

Our parents met when we were in High school....then again for our college graduation!!!
