I went back on sunday to look at the dress again and decided to get the Mon Cheri. I'm so happy...
BUT...
I'm unsure if I should actually order it now. I want to lose weight, so when should I order it?

Re: Saing Yes to a dress
I want to lose weight as well, and I mentioned that to the sales lady. She said not to worry the alteration people can work wonders! She said they do it everyday!
Plus mine is a corset back so there is more room to adjust if needed. IDK if your's is too but if so keep that in mind.

When I ordered my dress, Geri told me that it's easy to alter if it's less than 10 pounds lost. But she said that usually after 10 or more pounds, it's harder to alter because that's generally about a whole size.

How long does it take to order the dress? Maybe it is best to order the dress in your current size and then just alter it when you receive it. You can always make a dress smaller but you can't make it bigger.

Good Luck! Just keep in mind that the dress store may tell you to order it now, not to worry, they can fix it, etc. etc. because they want to close the deal and they don't want you to push off ordering the dress. I hope you get some honest help when they call you back!

Re: Saing Yes to a dress
with my dress for example, they can alter up to 3 sizes smaller. ask them how many sizes smaller they can go. but if you still want to wait, you can...i wouldnt wait any longer than say 8-9 months out.

I would never do this, I know its really risky. What if I stay a cow and can't fit into it.

i know its risky, im in the same boat as u. but it makes u more determined to know that you HAVE to fit in that dress no matter what

Re: Saing Yes to a dress
They told me that they are able to go one size up or two sizes down as a general rule of thumb - but it may depend on the dress. Sorry! Not really helpful at all.
