I woke up this morning in a panic, because I feel as if I don't have enough time to find my dress and have it altered before next May! I know some people plan weddings in 3-4 months, but I also know that it takes that long for certain dresses to arrive after being ordered. I'm praying that I find The Dress at the first place I go to next weekend, but if I don't, I want to know if I should be worried.

Don't be worried! You can always rush order a dress if you need it faster. Things will always work out!!!

Re: Saying yes to the dress without all the stress
The bridal salon I will most likely get my dress in said the latest I could get it, for my June wedding safely was November... early November.
I'm trying not to panick, I don't want to rush and get a dress so I'm saying to myself there are thousands of dresses out there and thousands of people who will get dresses in less time than 7 months! Wishful thinking....
Definitely get on it though and try some dresses on now.
If you're going to David's bridal or someplace like that don't worry you have time. The dresses are in-store unless you have to special order them.

Re: Saying yes to the dress without all the stress
Thank you all for the reassurance. I shouldn't have too much of a problem since I run in the size 8-10 range, but I don't want to love a dress and then be told it takes 4 months to get it, you know?

I understand, I think the bridal salons def exaggerate how long it takes to get a dress. My dress wasnt supposed to be in til november and surprise it came in in august!

Awww don't worry, you still have time. I'm sure your consulant will keep your timeline in mind when pulling dresses for you to try on.

I wouldn't worry too much. I know some places may take a while to get certain dresses in but I ordered mine and it was supposed to take 3 months and took 2 weeks! I say enjoy the experience and find something you really love.

Don't be worried. You have plenty of time. My dress didnt even come in yet, but they can always rush it. I think they just wait around to order because they dont want to lay out the money for it. It will be alright. Don't rush into it and make sure its the right one :)

They can rush almost anything but it will cost you. Your bridal consultant will know which designers have a long lead time. I ordered my Lazaro dress in Jan '11 and it is still not in but they told me it would take a long time. Just let them know in advance about your concern.
