Sayville anyone???

opinions...nice/not so nice areas??? School Districts??? good, bad, or just ok???

I went to Sayville HS. It's a nice town all over. South of Montauk is just gorgeous - old Victorians and kind of a beachy feel.

What I like about the town is the variety of home styles. There are the Victorians, Cape Cods, coverted summer homes, ranches, colonials. There aren't like stretches and stretches of the same style, except in a couple of the new developments.

I also like that it has a fishing-village feel. Good non-chain shopping. (Except for Starbucks, but I love Starbucks!)

I think the schools are pretty good. The HS has a breathalizer though after many kids showed up drunk to a dance years ago.

I love the town of Sayville...they have one of my favorite restaurants...Cafe Joelle!

I also went to Sayville. I moved there in 3rd grade. I love it. We would have moved there but it is too far for DH.

I never heard of the breathalizer thing though. But who didn't drink in HS

Most school districts have breathalizers now. Sayville is a very good district I was THISCLOSE to taking a job there.

Really? They proposed it in East Hampton but it was shot down. I didn't realize it was all schools.

I would have been in serious trouble!
