scale question (for those of us trying to lose weight)

which do you think is more accurate: the dr. style scale where you have to slide the things over (sorry i really don't know if there's a name for it) or the digital types?

there is like a 3 lb difference between the scale at WW (digital) and the one at the gym (not digital). I know a couple of them are off, but i'm never sure which one to go by! what do you guys think.

THe non-digital is more accurate--as long as it is calibrated. I usually get on the digital one, but I put a weight on it first to make sure it is accurate!!

Non digital is more accurate.

Make sure that the pointy thing is in the middle when there is nothing on the scale and it's set to Zero - get it? If it is - then it's going to give you your accurate weight.

hm.. good thinking. this is why i don't have a scale at home. My mom used to tell me she weighed 120 lbs, all happy. i'm like no you don't mom. I got on her scale it was 15 lbs off!!! NUTS.

Hmm......what about the home scales that you just step on and there is a dial that shows your weight?

i think you should just stick to weighing yourself on one scale if you are only concerned with tracking weight loss whether the starting weight was right or not - you can still track your progress.....i always use the same scale, weight at the same time everyday and i always weigh myself naked!! for consistency of course

that's what i do too.
Naked, and at the same time each day. I know my scale isn't giving me the right weight to start at, but it's been pretty accurate with the gain and loss...
