My fiance' and I went to Jamaica last year to Sandals. THIS WAS MY FIRST VACATION EVER!! Unfortunately, we got hit with a hurricane...It was the most horrific experience of my life....totally 'Titanic like'. They closed everything, we tried to leave but we couldn't. We got evacuated to another hotel, where nothing was open. THENNN, they canceled our flight out of Jamaica, so we got stuck in our room for an extra THREE NIGHTS(which we had to pay for)!!! The pools were even shut down!! And to boot, once we got home, they told us that NO Luggage left Jamaica!! We had to wait another WEEK for our luggage. It was horrible!!!! They issued us their Hurricane Guarantee, but while trying to book our replacement vacation, they say we can only go between Aug. 1 - Oct. 31 2008!!! Is that not Hurricane Season?? Helloooooooooo????? Who would want to go back to a place where they were scared for their life!!! AND on their websites - it clearly states they have openings in numerous resorts for March and April....Nowhere in the Guarantee does it mention any specific time that you have to use the vaca....just within one year....If they don't help us - I am NEVER using them again!!!!! Thanks for Listening...
If the dont state that there are black out days then i would hold them to it. They are probably just trying to book up rooms during their slow season..hurricaine season.
U need to call them a say that it wasnt previously said that u have to come back during hurricane season. I cant believe them. That would not be fair at all.
They are SUPPOSED to be the #1 in Customer Service - They are def. not on my top ten list for ANYTHING!!! I am so dissapointed...We only traveled with them at that time of year because of the guarantee...Do you think I should call my Lawyer if they don't bend a little??
At this point - If THAT is what vacationing in other countries is like....I am NEVER leaving the US again!!! The way everything was handled was soooo far beyond Unsufficient!!!! I want to cry.... that was $6000 out the window.....It was supposed to be our two year anniversary trip.
