scanner unsavvy

okay - so here it is. i have access to every possible gadget in the high-tech world......and I don't know how to use ANYTHING> I have a digital camera, and a great scanner - we are in marketing/advertising/graphic design...but how do I do it?

Say I take a picture of my invite w. the digital camera. Then what? We have all MACS at the office. Is there a plug? I am so illiterate! (and thanks for being the only people I can admit this to by the way). And how do people get pictures on here? Are those taken w. digital cameras? Help!

- the unsavvy bride....

Re: scanner unsavvy

You should be able to hook it up through the USB ports.

If not, you probably have memory card/stick readers hooked up to the macs. Just take the photos and plug the memory card/stick into the reader. It works as another drive.

Re: scanner unsavvy

I don't have a MAC, I have a PC, and I plug the digital camera into the USB port also. It should be the same way for a MAC.

The way I do it:
Before anything, you should've installed the software that came with your camera. After it's installed, here are the steps I use:
1st put the camer into USB mode, then turn power off.
Plug it into the USB port.
Turn camera back on, and whatever program you have will bring up your pics.
You can then save whatever pics you want onto your hard drive, which you can attach to your post here.

About the scanner, I scan many pics, save them as a jpeg onto my harddrive, then attach them to my post.

Hope this helps.
