Danielle and I went looking at houses sunday with our friends. We went looking for them.
We came across this Levitt Ranch, that says it is in excellent condition. This house was far from excellent. The pictures make it look nice compared to what it looked like in person.
It does look ok from the pictures which is why I believe now you can never get a good sense of a house till you see it in person. So give us the scoop Scott what was it really like?

Re: Scary Levitt ranch
Well see the old kitchen...It looked better in pictures. The fireplace was closed up on one side, and the refrigerator was just in the middle of the kitchen, really wierd placement.
We didnt get to see half of the house....There was 2 bedrooms and a bathroom that the woman didnt show us...so I couldnt tell you how bad they were.....But the living room was very closed in and there was little windows on top of the wall. Then there was a storage room that was pitch black, a room that was an inside porch, with a cracked cement floor, and something that resembled a bar...The backyard was small and in bbad shape, as was the back of the house. There was also another storage room on the house that you can get to from the yard.
The second floor consisted of two disgusting bedrooms, and a small disgusting smelly half bath.....

When we were looking for our house the realestate agent told us that excellent condition...usually means that the house needs work just to make it liveable.

Yeah I believe that...This house needed more than help...It wasnt as bad as the other house we looked at that had a leaky roof and had mold all over it Scott

Oh ya...I can totally see you getting more for your house Valentine girl. We looked at a house right off of N Jerusalem on Center lane for $359k and it needed to be totally updated. It was an original Levitt cape....Even had the unfinished 2nd floor

Re: Scary Levitt ranch
These days, I don't think you can get much in Levittown for under $350k. I did some searching just to appease my mom, because she was convinced that we could get something comparable in Levittown to the house we bought in Putnam co. We couldn't.

Re: Scary Levitt ranch
We found one for $346. It is a hud house but it was already in contract. We also found one for $389k that had a leaky roof, and one of the rooms was loaded with mold...

Re: Scary Levitt ranch
sadly most of the houses in levittown that go for under 400 are usually in very bad shape. thgere old houses and some of the owners are older and have lived in there homes for a really long time and havent updated them.
