So I was looking online for votive candles and i found a website where the prices for the scented votives are the same as the unscented. Is getting scented votives a good idea (Like vanilla or clean linen) or should I just stick to unscented

When people are eating, you don't want scented candles... it's not pleasant to be trying to eat your filet and all you can smell is cotton fresh or vanilla. blech,

I would stick to unscented... Some people don't like the smell of candles and others could be allergic to certain scents. Plus it might be too much all at once. My cousin smells candles and gets really nauseous..

Re: Scented Vs Unscented
where would you put the candles? if they are part of the favors, i would do scented but if they are part of the scheme of the table on the day of your wedding i would do unscented. i wouldn't want the smell to overcome anyone and get in the way of the yummy food smells

Definitely do unscented! The only scent you want is food and your flowers.

I was thinking about doing scented candles - so glad you posted this. I would have never thought about some of the reasons you girls put down for not doing scented candles. THANKS!!

This!! And with the number of candles you'd be lighting, the scented ones would be STRONG.
