As a product of Rockville Centre schools myself, they are good.

Those residing in Rockville Centre got to the schools there, there are I think 5-6 Elementary schools, 1 Middle/Jr HS and 1 HS. These are public schools.

Are you asking for work or where you'll be living to raise kids?

FH grew up in Rockville Centre. It is a great district. I dont think there are any 'bad' schools. If you are thinking of the Lakeview area of Rockville Centre, I believe most of thost students are in the Malverne School District anyway.

All schools in Rockville Centre are great. I would say Watson school is the most ethnically diverse and unfortunately a lot of people equate that with being 'bad.' not cool. Riverside is probably the most affluent (in terms of housing) but really the property taxes all over RVC are very high, so the schools are great. Southside is a very strong high school.

All the RVC schools are good. Just make sure when you buy in RVC you are not in malverne, oceanside or baldin school districts

I have a friend who works for RVC and she likes it. she has been switched around a lot, but that was to help her keep her job, so that's good!

not true. oceanside is a VERY good school district.

i used to work in both malverne and RVC. stay AWAY...far far away...from malverne. RVC is fine, not much different from the surrounding school districts--lynbrook, garden city, etc.

baldwin elementary schools are fine. it's the middle and high schools that you need to be wary of.

but i have no idea why you would tell people to stay away from oceanside, it's a great district.

I grew up in Oceanside and the school district is very good there.

If you are moving to RVC specificly for the school district, just ask your real estate agent. The parts of RVC that are in the O'side school district are just north of Sunrise, off Lincoln Ave and some streets of Rockaway Ave.

I think she meant that if you buy a house in RVC and want RVC schools to make sure your house doesn't fall into one of the surrounding school districts. THe outskirts of RVC may fall into one of the other school districts, Baldwin, Oceanside or Malverne.

i grew up in rvc its a great place, taxes are VERY high as you already stated so the SD are good...i agree Oceanside is a GREAT SD as well, the greystone area falls into that and the avg prices of houses over there is about 575-650K soo not too shabby!!
