YES!!!

1st Degree for Laci and 2nd Degree for Connor.

'A jury found Scott Peterson guilty of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Laci, and of second-degree murder in the death of their unborn son today. The verdict reached by the six-man, six-woman jury leaves Peterson facing a possible sentence of death or life in prison without parole. '

I know this is a board of women... and this guy is an a-hole...

But you all realize they had absolutely no concrete evidence that he did it. No murder weapon. No Forensics. Just circumstantial evidence.

At least with OJ they had a murder weapon... her blood all over his clothes... etc.

They didn't have anything with this guy. He has to be guilty 'by a reasonable doubt'... i dont see how they had reasonable doubt in this case.

good point. But, here's my logic: who else had any reason to kill her? Usually, we hear of pregnant women or new mothers being assaulted (sometimes worse) because of a kidnapping ploy. But, that didn't happen here. So, who would just kill her, dump her body, and then take off?

The last time I checked... that didn't constitute as 'reasonable doubt'.

I just find it strange that Scott Peterson could be found guilty with no murder weapon, no cause of death, no witnesses, but yet OJ gets to go free when there was a mountain of evidence against him.

And in a sick way... I can see this case as 'payback for OJ' to the public.

But oh well... he is going away for good. He was an a-hole anyways.

It definitely doesn't. But, that plus his behavior, and the fact that he was telling his girlfriend that his wife was never coming home (when they first started to look for her), sure does make him seem guilty.

I work in the legal world so a lot of people have talked about this case and what a lot of people need to realize is that years ago circumstantial evidence is all they use to have to tie a person to a murder (minus a murder weapon).

Only recently do we have DNA testing, balistics, etc....but so many people think this is what is needed to get a guilty conviction and its not. Circumstantial evidence (and there were plenty in this case) can convict a person.

To me it came down to what man leaves his very pregnant wife home alone on xmas eve to fish, comes home and eats a meal for an hour before thinking it strange that Lacy is not around and then her body and her unborn sons body surfaces four months later in the same exact location (80 miles away mind you) that he was fishing in. Oh and he's having an affair.

I think it was very telling as well that he had no emotion, he has never had any emotion about it and to me he is a functioning psychopath.

I hope he rots in jail for years and then someone in jail does him in so we don't have to pay for his worthless arse to sit there the rest of his life.

Laci and Conner got justice here!

Perhaps. Now do you think he will get the death penalty?

Re: Scott Peterson 1st degree verdict

I don't think he'll get the death penalty, but he will probably rot in jail for the rest of his days. The 1st degree conviction alone is death penalty or life in prison. The 2nd degree charge carries 15 years to life.

I'm very happy with the verdict. I don't think he'll get the death penalty, but life in prision without parole seems like enough punishment to me.
