What happens at the Planning Seminars? Do they feed you? Or is it just a seminar? Anyone done it already?

Re: Scotto Brothers Brides: Question??
No food, but we did get drinks. It is not a showcase. It's a seminar where they help you with your planning. I suggest going. It was helpful, they gave us a nice binder with some notes and stuff. FH & I enjoyed it.

Re: Scotto Brothers Brides: Question??
They have their recommended vendors there who give a little presentation about themselves and you can ask questions before & after. I think for food they just had a few things--I remember they had veggies, cheese & crackers, not too much else.

Re: Scotto Brothers Brides: Question??
Thanks. I am just trying to figure out if FH and I should grab something to eat before or after. I work in NYC and FH is going to pick me up at Westbury train station. Should I grab fast food (ick) or wait until it is over?
How long is the seminar?

Re: Scotto Brothers Brides: Question??
I went to the one at WM back in December. They passed out some finger foods and there was cheese and crackers in the front of the room. It is helpful in my opinion cause their vendors are there and you can ask questions/get brochures and they give you a brief overview about everything. I thought it was good. Could have been a little shorter since alot of what they said was in the folder you get to take home.

We did not get any food. It's worth the time to go because you get the binder, but it's really just their way of promoting their vendors.

Re: Scotto Brothers Brides: Question??
IMO, it's not worth going unless you haven't booked any of your vendors. That's basically all it is, their house vendors are available to provide information. I think it was 3 hours, but you aren't obligated to stay for the whole time.

Re: Scotto Brothers Brides: Question??
When I went all they had was a representative from Stan Weist, a tuxedo place and Cassarino studios. And all they did was speak at the END of the seminar. I thought it was helpful, JMO. Pointers on invite wording, picking florists, etc.

Re: Scotto Brothers Brides: Question??
We got food when we went, but we got no binder. just a cheesy folder... i was annoyed. It really wasn't much help to me, and i didn't have any vendors. Id rather have one on one meetings without feeling rushed with other brides lined up to talk to them.

Re: Scotto Brothers Brides: Question??
I think it will be okay. I was actually most curious if there would be food because I will getting right off of the train and going there. But all the added info everyone is volunteering is great. So far, we have a photographer and my dad (a semi-retired club date musician) will be putting together my band. So I guess I will check out video and tuxes and invites. Maybe I can just ask some questions about the hall that I just thought of recently.
