Scotto In House Florist...Help!

Ok so I now understand that the florist will not deliver my flowers. Oh no!!!! That's going to kill me unless I have a solution. I'm in Queens along with the church. Has anyone used their florist but had the ceremony in a church? If so what did you do?

I know this does not help you but I have heard that some people use a 2nd florist (one that delivers) for their personal and church flowers.

Okay - another question...in terms of being cost effective is it better to have one florist do everything or two that separate the church and the reception - like in this situation?

That is a good question. I haven't done my flowers yet but I would think that using one place would be cheaper because the florist would be more likely to throw things in. I could be wrong though. I noticed that the savings isn't much if you use the same place for photo and video. It may be the same.

If anyone can add anything I'd appreciate hearing what you have to say. Thanks!

what do you mean, your florist will not deliever to both church and reception

or

you want church flowers delievered to reception?

or

they won't deliever to the church at all?
what if you paid them to set up?

My understanding is that the Scotto florist will not deliver the flowers to me - the bouquets, bouts, etc. So I guess I'd have to pick them up if they did them for me. That might be a real pain....

oh.....that is a bummer
you dont' have an option of it getting delievered? i hope the price was right because what if someone does pick em up and it's not right or wrong... sounds messy (jmo)

I totally agree. We are actually going to meet with them next week and I just found this out. Guess it will play a big deciding factor. I was hoping to book them but now I might have to meet with other florists. Guess I'll start with them first. I guess this whole thing works if you're having the ceremony and the reception there. Otherwise it really does seem messy.

like someone stated above...have them do the CP if the price is right.. (i would check other florist - we used LA Blossom - Laurie will come to your house!! )

you could do half and half else an outside vendor. We did crest hollow and the price off the CP was not great enought... would of only been 150 - 200 off.

Yes, call tehm first. There might be another florsits that maye deliver to teh church & to the reception. I amy be using 2 florsits.

I MUST use a certain florsits for teh church & they are expensive, s I am y use the milleridsge florsit. I cam goign to call thems oon to price them. The church florists was charging me per item, not as a package, so I don't realyl see how 2 florists could really be more expensve than just using 1. Esp, if you don't have to pay a delivery charge or tip onthe house florist.

Also, in my case, the centerpeices are included, but i dont' like them so I was going to use them at the CH & get ones from the church florist, but now I maybe just see how much it will cost to upgrade the CPs.

There is someone lese here that has 2- I forget who, but she has a church in NJ, & LI reception, so she has to have 2 florists.

Ang, have you tried to check out Donald Hedgecock Florist (he's in queens on queens blvd)? I checked him out and if I am not mistaken he was slightly cheaper than the In-house florist at the fox hollow. The reason I didn't use him was out of convenience. I am getting married on the premises so using them was fine. Chris also threw in some freebies so it was worth it.

I think Donald Hedgecock is the house florist for Sans Souci.

Good luck!

I was actually considerenig using the in house florist for just my c-pieces and everything else from a local florist ( I from brooklyn). But I met with a florist by me and got such a great deal with them and they will bring everything to the church and to FH so I just decided to go with 1 close to me. If youa re definitely set on using the in house florist than I would definitely look into the idea of using 2...JMO! Good luck!

I don't think you need the hassel of 2 florists -( I never heard of a florist who doesn't deliver) I don't think church, personal flowers, and centerpieces need to match but I do think they should coordinate. It makes alot more sense to use the same florist for everything. Try Murphy's in Bayside or Queens Garden Center in Whitestone.

make your life a little less stressful and stay with one florist. Tell whatever florist the situation and the price you were given and a bet they will do a little better. People should not be selling bridal flowers if they can't do the job the correct way. Who needs the hassel of worring about the flowers on the BIG DAY .
