Scrapbookers-I have a question!

I'm a virgin at this...so be gentle with me!!

I am going to buy my first supplies this weekend to start my NEW scrapbooking hobby!!

Any suggestions on what supplies to get?

Also..how do I make a book out of all the things I make? Ex: Is the paper strong enough to be used a s a page in an album...or do I need to glue the paper to something sturdy??

I will see if I can bump up the thread where lots of gals posted the necessary things to start with.

As far as the album goes, I like the ones that have to plastic pages protectors in the book and I slip my finished layouts into them.

you will need a few essentials..... lol

good scissors, fancy ones if you prefer

you can do one of two things
contact a CM consultant like kaylas parents/merrie
to get a tape runner, corner rounder and paper personal trimmer

you can also buy a tape runner at michaels
but the tools from CM work great and will last forever

buy some stickers at michaels as well and the kits w/ die cuts inside
then when your ready buy a larger kit/of paper/stickers and die cuts from QVC or HSN

I'm a newbie too!!!

I walked around Michaels looking at all sorts of things to get an idea...then went onto ebay and bid on things/styles that I liked...(look for the auctions ending soon...otherwise its tortuous to wait)

I have to say that GOOD scissors are important...I used a pair of crappy ones for a cut or two...and then went to get better ones...

look at the threads posted here...they have great ideas...adn also they post great websites...where you can spend hours looking at peoples layout and see what you like for your own...

I live in Brooklyn...so I don't have a Michaels by me...I'll be going to Staten Island...but I have to look for a store in my area...there's GOT to be something!

A great place to get started is the crop (scrabook GTG) on Sunday Nov 2, from 12-4 at the Scrapbook Patch in Miller Place. FM me for details. 'Newbies' are welcome. Let me know if you can come, space is limited.

ETA:Make sure you paper and glue are acid free and archiaval quality.
