Re: Scratch off lotto tickets as favors?

I did lottery tickets for my favor. We had the lottery tickets affixed on the inside of a tented - place-card looking thing (if that makes sense). There was a little poem on the outside and the inside and a ribbon at the top. The card was plain white with black engraved writing and a black engraved castle on the outside. We had the same person do it that did our placecards and program. In all, they were really alot more than $1/piece. One was placed at each place setting.

IMO, I would LOVE to receive this as a favor. It is totally original and not a little knick-knack that will sit in my junk drawer until it is tossed.

Also, please tell me because I really don't see it, what is tacky about this???

i'm with you. we thought about it too since every holiday someone in the family brings over enough to play and yeah, we win abou 5 bucks between 5 of us, usually, but we have fun!!! i'd much rather get this then another tchotchke, but that is jmho! and how memorable will a wedding be if someone actually does win $5000? your wedding will be considered the lucky wedding!!!

Re: Scratch off lotto tickets as favors?

I thought this was a really cute idea.. the younger people thought it was a great idea... FH HATED it ... and you should see the dirty looks the older people gave me when it was suggested. I thought the same way about the junk people give and it sits in the closet.. but my FMIL made a good point.. not everyone will win something.. at least they will have something to bring home.. with the tickets the loosers throw them away and leave with nada. It also stinks if your the only people who dont win anything at the table!

Re: Scratch off lotto tickets as favors?

We actually did this as part of our favor. We used the envelope placecards and we put a lotto ticket in each one. It was a little surprise when our guests opened the envelope to see which table they were at. Everyone loved it. The Hearts of Gold tickets only have a maximum win of like $300 so you don’t have to worry about someone winning big.

Re: Scratch off lotto tickets as favors?

I like it too and we almost did it but didn't have the time to get everything and put it together. My DH is obsessed with lottery scratch offs so anyone that knows him would know how much input he had into it!

For a shower maybe, but definitely not for the wedding itself. JMO.
