Re: Scroll and wax sealed invites
back in the day - victorian era etc. - they did scrolled invitations well they did scrolls really for any important message. They usually had calligraphy for the lettering and the invite was sealed with candle wax

Re: Scroll and wax sealed invites
we tried to buy a wax seal for the inside of our invite since its a pocket flap one, but apparently if you get a real wax seal It works too good, and you can't open it without ripping the paper, so we scrapped that idea,
but I think it would be fine on the outside, since people rip the invite open anyway.
If you want to put it on a scroll you might have the same ripping problem, but I hear good things about fakewaxseals.

I'm doing the wax seal on my petal cones & my the outer envelope of my invites. I don't have a digital so I can't post pics, but if you want to FM me I can send you a pic by text message on my phone

Re: Scroll and wax sealed invites
I got an invite once that was a 'message in a bottle' The scroll was in a plastic bottle with sand.. [obviously was a beach theme] and it was packed in a little box. Very cute...
As far as wax seals go- Ive recieved 2 in my life, 1 was hand delivered, looked awesome! But the one i received in the mail fell off. So all i saw was a greasy smudge on the back... Ive heard from other brides that they do fall off alot. Keep that in mind, maybe you'll want to do a fake one instead, they just stick on with adhesive.

Re: Scroll and wax sealed invites
I did wax seals on my invites!!! they were BEAUTIFUL and everyone was impressed :) Do yourself a favor and get the glue gun wax...it's it's SO much easier and there's NO mess. I had gotten my seal off of nostalgicimpressions.com and the wax i got SUPER cheap off of fauxwax.com....unfortunately i dont think the website is operating anymore :( but u can definetly google wax seals and pull up a bunch of websites...... just a tip ; spray a little cooking spray on the seal before applying it to the wax - you'll avoid sticking! I sprayed a bunch of Pam on a plate and dipped the seal in between every few applications....have fun & good luck!

Re: Scroll and wax sealed invites
I had a scroll with a wax seal on the end of it. Everyone thought they were awesome
no scrolls but im sealing invites with wax and seal - got the seal at michaels - hidden in the 'wedding sh*t' area. was pretty cheap too!! just took forever to locate it since no one works the floor in that store!! Gonna do the glue gun wax too.

Re: Scroll and wax sealed invites
I actually did the wax seals on out STD's w/ our monogram. I didn't do the glue gun, I bought gold wax from Michaels. It wasn't easy but not too terrible either. I just lit the end of the wax and let it drip where I wanted it and them put the stamp on it for a couple of seconds. I loved the way it looked. I put some pics in album under wedding stuff, they're a little dark but you can still see. HTH!
