i literally could've walked out with my dress at the 1st fitting, all it needed was a bustle, so she didn't do much

I did not tip my seamstress. But I will say, in hindsight, I wish I had.

Oh- I didn't realize this is something that should be done.......If the seamstress at David's Bridal is doing the alterations does she get a tip???

Re: seamstress tipping
I feel bad - I'm not wearing the dress I bought from that store, and I'm doing my own alts on the new one, but she did 4 rounds of alterations. Maybe $50, if I have it.

Re: seamstress tipping
I think it depends upon how much work and effort went in to the alterations. If someone goes above and beyond what is expected of them I would definitely give them a tip.

Re: seamstress tipping
Thanks everyone. I ended up just asking one of the sales girls how much I should tip and she said $40.00 was a generous tip. So that's what I gave, but my seamstress did a lot of reworking of the dress. I think with regular alterations, it's not necessary after all. Thanks again.
