Searching for a Roman Catholic Church...PLEASE HELP!

I just switched my reception place to Oheka Castle...we were so excited until we remembered we forgot to move our date at the church...it is too late and a wedding is already booked... so now we need to find a church in the vicinity!
If anyone knows of a nice church (roman catholic) in the area (i am from manhasset so anywhere from manhasset to coldspring harbor where oheka is would be fine)...

THANKS SO MUCH

Thanks! Is it a big church? Do you happen to know who the priest is there...what does it look like?
Sorry for all the questions...i am currently living out of the area and want to narrow it down to a few churches so i can go to them all in one day. Also, do you know if non-parishoners can marry there?
THanks SO MUCH i really appreciate it!!!!!

I think it's pretty large. In regards to it's appearance, I think it's beautiful. Many of the parishioners are from Lloyds Neck, Cold Spring Harbor, etc. so there's quite a bit of money in the church. It doesn't have a cathedral look (it's not 'old'), but it's definitely not unattractive.

Sorry, I can't recall any of the priests' name. I think we met with Father Steve and he was on the young side.

I'll be getting married there Sept. 20th, 2003.

(I don't know their policy on outside parishioners marrying there.)

What about Saint Dominic's in Oyster Bay?

I don't know if you are willing to go South Shore, but we are getting married at St. Barnabas in Bellmore. The church is beautiful. Very long aisle though. It's a big church. We are using Father Brian, just in case you want to check it out.

The website for the dicoese of rockville centre has links to all of the churches on Long Island (it is down towards the bottom of the homepage) .. Some of them may have pics of the church and at the very least will have contact info...

The Rockville Centre (can't remember name) is supposed to be the big catholic church on the island and is supposed to be beautiful. Also there is supposed to be a nice catholic church (never been inside but know people who belong to it) in brookville (St Pauls maybe?)

I second St. Dominic's in Oyster Bay. We are parishioners of that Church now, even though we were married in St. Agnes.

Ask about the Chapel. It's an old historical building, which is different form the Church. It is so pretty. HOwever, I am not sure about non-parishioners being married there. You may b e able too, but usually pay higher 'donations.'

Good Luck.

Hello Girls,
Thank you so much for all your suggestions! St. DOminics did say you had to be a parishioner but i will try the chapel. I really appreciate all the suggestions...keep them coming...we need as many as possible since our projected date (october 12th) seems to be very popular as it is a holiday weekend. THANKS AGAIN

I am also a parishoner at St. Dominic's - it's gorgeous there. I am getting married in the Chapel on 9/21/03. I do thing their policy now with a new Pastor is 'parishoners only' - why not St. Mary's in Manhasset?

Manhasset is booked!!! We originally reserved the same date as your wedding at st. mary's but now that we have switched the reception and are trying for October 12th... it is too late

I'm getting married at St Anthonys in E. Northport - it would be a 15 minute drive to Oheka.

And how about Church of the Holy Name of Jesus in Woodbury? I can't recall what it looks like, but it's not too far from your reception.
