We actually didn't find it that bad- with a few exceptions. We gave my MIL her guest list and had her deal with that since we barely even know half the people she invited. I did my family and got the ok from my mom and we did our friends together. I thought it would be much worse than it turned outt being. Our only issue was with our two head tables. Noone really wanted to sit with my BIL's (best man) fiance and we ran into some issues, but it worked out well enough in the end.
