Seating cards

Seating cards

I have a little problem with my soon to be partner of my life, she doesn't think we should tell anyone where are they supposed to seat. I on the other hand think is very classy to do this, anyone has any suggestions? The reason she doesn't want to assign seats is because some people on my guest list just don't get along so seating them together or closely is not an option but what you guys think. My wedding my be on a Yacht.

Your damned if you do and your damned if you don't. But I'm all for assigned seating.

If you have assigned seating then some of the people you invite that don't know anyone will atleast have some poeple to talk to. And it would be easier to fill in all the tables. People will still get up and move around and talk to people throughout the night.

If you dont assign seating you will end up with some tables that have 3 people sitting at it and other tables that have 15 people. Then everyone is going to play musical chairs all night long, moving their things from table to table.

We are all faced with issues of people not getting along. But it's a wedding, and I'm sure they will act mature enough to let it go, it might even help them get along better.

I feel like assigning a table, if not assigning a seat, is one less thing to worry about day of. I'd put it to your fw like that and see how she takes it...

Well said. I totally agree. Everyone should be assigned a seat.

not having assigned seating will cause massive confusion. People will be switching seats, people will be taking other peoples seats, then relaitves who may have wanted to sit with other realitves may get mixed in with your friends who they dont know.

I went to an Eparty like this and ended up not being able to sit with my FMIL and FFIL because the table was full when we got there, and had to sit at the next table with people we didnt know.

I would suggest assigned seating

I went to a wedding with no assigned seating...it was a NIGHTMARE! Couples had to split up or add extra chairs to tables and it was a free for all when walking into the reception.

I think it would be easier for the guests if the seats are assigned, the less i have to think about, the better it is for me as a guest. You know basically who gets along with who and you won't have somebody wandering around feeling uncomfortable because they can't find a table they would fit in at.
