Seating chart

FH and I totally are disagreeing on this - he wants us to do sperate kids and parents tables. I don't feel comfortable having 2 tables of 5-12 year olds by themselves. (especially since some of them get into trouble even when they aren't unattended) He says this is the way it's always been done at his family weddings.

Is this normal?

I used to work for a country club and catered weddings - and I have seen this done before..... If you want to be nice to the waitstaff, don't seat the children at their own table.

I've never attended a wedding where this was done - but having worked them, it really was a nightmare having to tend to tables of unattanded children. I'm not saying all children are evil (though we know some are ) but things are much calmer when they're with their parents!

That's just my oppinion.

I SOOO agree...I also cater weddings and the 'kiddie' table is the worst. They are all over the place and in my opinion it is not safe. JMO

Re: Seating chart

We are having a kids table...I think there's about 8 children b/w the ages of 5-11...Im putting card games, coloring books, crayons, madlibs and some pencils on the table for the kids to share. They are only haivng chx nuggets...I guess it depends on the families kids but Im not concerned...the children are very well behaved.
Sorry for frustration and GL!
