Seating Chart and RSVP Drama?

Seating Chart and RSVP Drama?

For anyone who used (or is using) a Seating chart for their Reception, did you have any issues with RSVPs? People RSVPs late, or not RSVPing and then showing up anyway, or people bringing someone else with them?

I guess this could happen with Escort Cards too, but it might be weird to have this happen on a chart being printed or it could be hard to finalize the list, I assume. Whereas with Escort Cards, you could always make extras.

What do you think?

I ordered colored escort cards because DH didn't like the free ones {why save money}

Anyway we sent them to get done ... calligraphy [DH said I couldn't write them myself and save money] pattern here

Back to the point ... we sent them to get done and 3 days later MIL decides she needs to switch tables so 2 couples had 2 sets of escort cards

then DH's work friend who did not send back his RSVP at all tells DH 2 days before the wedding that he is coming ... he has no escort card at all ... I told DH to call another guy at work and make sure they all sit at the same table ...

There is no way to avoid RSVP drama LOL

We had issues with people not responding on time and we were forced to call them.. then there were people who said they'd come but I considered no-shows so we left them out of the final count and had back up seating cards for them just in case. we also had extra blanks that day in the event someone showed up who replied no -- everyone was well aware of who was in at that point so the mom's knew who should and shouldn't be there on the family side and me and FH knew on the friend side..

Great idea!!

As far as the seating chart displayed you can take them to Staples & Kinkos to be printed if you wait closer to your date. I havent decided which one I'm doing yet!
