Seating Chart at Shower

Seating Chart at Shower

I'm going back and forth with my mom about seating charts for my shower.

yay or nay?

We are having the shower at a reception hall place...

We are probably going to book it tomorrow for sometime in early September.

I'd prefer not to have a seating chart.

My mom is thinking she wants one...
She's paying, I can't really complain - I just want opinions.

i think it might be a good idea for a seating chart bc just personally with these event i think you kinda feel better if you dont come with someone and knw ur seat is already there and you can put ur familly and his and friends wherever u think they should be and figure it out ahead of time. lol so i kinda do agree with your mom

I don't want a seating chart at my shower, I want my guests to be able to sit and mingle with whoever they want.

I agree

Its bad enough we have to do them for our wedding!

i personally dont think you need one because it should be less formal where everyone can just sit where ever they want and talk to each other.

I wouldn't waste your time. At informal events like that...people tend to mingle..

I don't think the seating chart is necessary. I won't be having one at mine. I doubt my mom would want one either. But, its so far away! I'm not even starting to think about the shower. I'm still trying to get through the eparty.

Nay. everyone will sit with who they know anyway.

I have to say that I looooove that your shower will be in September. My mother wants to throw mine in September also, and people have given my mom grief about it being to far away from the wedding.

I love the idea of having it in September. This way no one has to worry about it during the holidays.

I think it would be a good idea if you are having a lot of people. My friend had her shower last November and she had A LOT of people so her mom did assigned tables and then we picked where we wanted to sit at the table.

I really do like seating charts though. I feel like it's much easier to find your name and table instead of rifling through the place cards on a table.

I agree. The last shower i went to, was for my FH's aunt. The people I knew were already sitting together when I got there and I had to sit with her friends from college (which was ok, but I would have been more comfortable sitting with family).

i would go for the seating chart. its an actual event at a hall, and it would be easier for everyone if they knew were they were sitting

Normally I'd say no to a seating chart for a bridal shower, because they are usually less formal. But since it's at a reception hall, I'd say do it. It's a lot more comforting to people who may not know a lot of people there to know exactly where they are sitting. You know everyone and you know who should sit with who. The seating is mostly for eating, then everyone can get up and mingle.

seating charts at a house no. Seating charts at a reception hell. yes. i like the idea. I'm always the one stuck looking for a seat bc I don't know anyone.
