Seating chart scroll instead of place cards??

What do you think of the idea?? Its like 20x20 in size and you have it displayed on as eisle. Your guests basically go to the list instead of looking through a table of place cards. I saw it at the invite place I went to and think its a really cool idea. Here is a pic to show and example, it was too big so I had to cut the bottom part off to make it fit!

They had one at the last wedding I went to, the only thing I will say is that many of the guests were confused because they didn't notice it and were looking for place cards lol, but they figured it out eventually and it's probably a good money saving idea.

Another concern with that, a problem I know they had, was that the guest list changes right up until the day before the wedding (actually the day of if you count no-shows and those who didn't rsvp..but nothing you can do for them), and they couldn't change the names on the display so some people just had to be told where they were sitting. And a friend who had broken up with his fiance was listed on the display with her as his wife (they were supposed to be married a little before this wedding). But again, such a minor deal.

I really have to think about it, it would probably be easy to do and cost effective. The invite place that had it was charging $200+ for with. I feel like I could make it for less then that.

Depends...if it's a black tie wedding or more formal do the seating chart, but if it's more casual and smaller then do the scroll. I like it but to me it says small casual wedding
