i posted a similar thread to the 09 boards about this but i am posting on here now because i am wondering if any past brides that are married already and have used this seating chart board instead of regular place cards. i am curious to see how that works and if it works well for the guests cause this is what i am thinking of doing now, with a picture of me and fh in the backround and all the guests in the seating chart with the tables their sitting at... please give me any feedback on this, i need help!!!!!! :)

My sis had one, and it was BEAUTIFUL!! she got it from myfairytailweddings.com I think. EVERYONE complimented it, and thought it was great. I will be using this as well.

i personally would recommend against it....although it is super cute idea. the reason i say not to do it- is because you will have a swarm of ppl trying to find where there name is on a board with lots of other names.... with an escort table..everything is in alphabetical order and your RH usual has someone helping guest find their cards.

Thats what I would have thought, BUT my sis had a 300 person wedding, and it worked out great.

i personally dont like them. i went to a wedding that had it and it was a PITA to find your name cuz there was a crowd of people over there. Plus i find it may be a little more challenging for the older folk

thanks for your feedback! :) how was your sisters poster?? did she have a picture of her and her fh or it was just plain?? the place i will be getting mine done from said i can either have it plain, our monogram or a picture of us and since we are already having pictures on the tables as the table #'s with our pictures i think it would be too much pictures and i dont want to over do it with pictures in the room.. so i am thinking of having our monogram on the poster instead!! :)

what about escort cards and a board with just table numbers- so guests know where there table is in the room- once they have their assigned seat?

one other question.. do you know around how much your sister payed for it if you dont mind me asking or how much they go for if you know? because this place where i am getting a lot of other things made for my wedding does these boards and she gave me a quote of about 160 i think it was to have our monogram and 175 with our picture.. do you think this is over priced or is this how much they really go for?

I have to agree with the anti-comments - I was at a large wedding, about 220 ppl, and they had this board, but it was really difficult for people, especially the older guests, to find their names because of the size of the print and the decorative script. There was a swarm of people and so the RH had to assign staff with less attractive binders to tell people their table number. At another recent wedding, the couple had broken the list down to like 4 smaller boards separated alphabetically, which made things a little better. Just my opinion - I prefer the old fashioned escort cards. I also always keep them! HTH

I like this idea. I also don't love the idea of a seating chart. If you are really into the board, you could also do a sign in board thing instead of a guestbook.

sounds about right.. i think they charged her a couple hundred

I'm doing escort cards. I would think that one of the disadvantages of a board is that you would have more of a time restriction. If there are last minute changes etc, you don't have flexibility. Not sure if that is the case.

which think the table seating chart is better or the votive candles or mini picture frames as the place cards??????? i need to decide this and its driving me crazy cause i dont know what i should do since i loveeeeee all 3 ideas!!!!!!!!!

the place card is the actual seat- and it is waiting for you when you get to your table. the escort card table has your table number on it.
